Seventeen new 2LTs were sworn in at Johns Hopkins University on 22 May 2026.

The Star Spangled Banner Chapter supports three US Army ROTC programs in the greater Baltimore area. Loyola, Johns Hopkins and Morgan State Universities held their Winter Commisioning Ceremonies in April & May 2026. Col (Ret) Frank Hilsher, our ROTC Chairperson, and LTC (r) John Davidson, MOAA Life Member, were presenters. Seventeen Johns Hopkins University Cadets were sworn in on 22 May 2026. 

MOAA continues to support these programs and the future officers in a variety of ways. At Commissioning, each Cadet receives a copy of the "Army Officers Guide" as a gift to serve as a reference as they enter into the Profession of Arms. 

Thanks to all the members that contribute to providing the "Army Officers Guide". It is much appreciated by the new 2LTs.
