This section of the website is intended to inform on legislation being proposed on both National and Local levels that impact active and retired members of the Uniform Services, their dependents and their survivors.

Each subpage contains information that is intended to both provide information and encourage each individual to reach out to their representatives in the US Congress and the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis.

• State Tax – This page deals with proposed Maryland legislation that impacts Property Tax Exemptions and Uniform Services Retirement Income Tax Exemptions.  Detailed charts are provided, and page is updated regularly.
• What You Can Do- Information is provided here on how to find contact information on your National and Local elected representatives, to inform on legislation and encourage each individual to take action on issues before the US Congress and the Maryland General Assembly.
• The Maryland Military Coalition – This organization lobbies on the behalf of numerous Veterans organizations in our state.  Information on the group, as well as their current legislative priorities, can be found on this page.
• Updates – This section provides general information on current priorities and leads to the Call to Action and the 2025 MD Legislative pages.
• Call to Action – Here you will find the current hot items and strongly encourages that each individual take action. It may contain sample letters/emails that each member can send to their Maryland elected officials.  For National Legislation specific references are provided to the National MOAA Advocacy website page.
• Bills Proposed in Maryland Legislative – The 2025 MD-Legislative - Session Page will provide a list of all bills before the Legislature this session on the right.  When the page is updated for te 2024 Session, you will be albe to click on the document and see current status.  The bills will be arranged by subject matter.
• Check the What You Can Do page to indicate how you reach out to your State Senator and Representative(s).
