It is important that we be aware of legislation on the National level that pertains to military service active and retired members.

Thanks to MOAA National, the attached list has been updated and is ready for each of us to implement the recommendations for National Legislation found on the "What YOU Can Do" tab and reach out to our US Senators and US Congressional Representatives.

The priorities for the second session of the 118th Congress are:

• The Major Richard Star Act would provide concurrent receipt for combat-related service members.
• BAH Restoration Act would ease the financial strain of adequate housing for many active-duty members and their families.
• Arlington National Cemetery action would address the potential shortage of burials opportunities for eligible service members and families.
• The Respect for Military Families Act would address the inequity in compensation for grieving military spouses.
• The Military Spouse Hiring Act would support Work Opportunities for qualified military spouses.
• The Tricare Young Adult Act would remedy the inequity in the maximum age for medical coverage for military children for the current 21 or 23 (if a student) to coincide with that for commercially available plans which covers dependent children to age 26. It would also eliminate the need for Tricare Young Adult coverage.
• Find a way to address the VA Health workforce issues.
